Dr. Mercedes Cook, D.C. Welcomes You to Upper Cervical Chiropractic San Diego

1.  A Warm Smile! 🙂

Every person is important to us, including you. Your health and quality of life is our only priority. Our patients often comment on how different their experience in our office is compared to other physicians’. We want to provide the best service and experience that you won’t get anywhere else. We love our patients and look forward to serving you!

2. New Patient Forms

This is a no brainer. Before we even get started, we need more information about you and what health problems you are facing. You can expect to complete a full medical history questionnaire and New Patient paperwork. This typically takes approximately 15-20 minutes.

However, you can save yourself time by completing our convenient Online New Patient Form in the comfort of your own home! Once you complete the form, click the gray “Submit Form” button and we will take care of the rest.

3. A Consultation With the Doctor

You will then have a conversation with Dr. Cook discussing your health concerns and past health history.

4. A Physical Examination

This involves a specific chiropractic evaluation and any necessary orthopedic and neurologic tests to detect the presence of a vertebral subluxation. Dr. Cook also utilizes a thermographic scanner to detect any abnormal heat patterns associated with nerve interference. Physical exams are easy, comfortable, and non-invasive.

5. Precision Digital X-Rays

X-Rays may be used to confirm the history and examination findings and to investigate for the presence of any underlying bone conditions or pathological developments. We utilize precision digital X-rays to determine the exact vector of a vertebral misalignment. High frequency digital X-rays allow for precise analysis of your films, enhanced picture quality with reduced exposure to radiation, and quicker processing without the use of chemicals and plain film.

The first visit typically takes 60 minutes or less, but if a patient’s case is particularly complicated the visit can take up to 90 minutes at most. At the end of your first visit, Dr. Cook may give you some home care instructions and use the time until your second visit to analyze all the gathered information and prepare a report. On your next visit, Dr. Cook will go through the report and let you know what she can and cannot do for you.
